For years students have been playing
dodgeball, but is it safe? Dodgeball has been a tradition at CLC during the morning from 7:45 to 8:00 and during rainy recess days from 12:35 to 1:05. It provides something fun to do when you’re waiting and when you’re rained in by the weather. Now is it safe? Kelly, the organizer of dodgeball, says “Yes I think it is because no one has been seriously hurt playing.” “I don’t think its life threatening but some elements of danger are ok.” Says Brian. Amanda says “yes I think its safe.” Elias Zeiders says “yes I think so, uh wait no.” Konstantin says “yeah I guess” But, Charging into the wall or one of the roof beams poses a safety risk to students. An example of this is a student could charge into it and hurt themselves when running from a jailbreak or rotation. However there may be a safer option to dodgeball, variations of dodgeball with designated safe zones and wall with popular examples including medic and hostage. Most students agree that variations of dodgeball are more fun. |
